ENL (previously Espitalier Noel Ltd),  which is listed on the Development & Enterprise Market (DEM) of the Stock Exchange of Mauritius, is involved in five major business sectors: agriculture, commerce and manufacturing, property development, investment management as well as corporate services. These activities are grouped into five business units.

The Group’s total assets were  Rs 11.8 billion as at June 2008. The Group’s turnover for the financial year ended June 2008 was Rs 2.3 billion and earnings per share were Rs 49.38. 

ENL was incorporated in 1944 as a holding company to bring together the interests held by the Noël family. Since its inception, ENL has steered the group’s expansion across different business sectors, today positioning it as an important wealth creator for the Mauritian economy. The ENL brand has long been respected in Mauritius for its adherence to strong values and business ethics. This business integrity has been translated into a stated commitment to constantly seek to achieve harmony with the natural and social environment. 

ENL Agribusiness (comprising of Mon Desert Alma and Savannah sugar estates), the group’s foundation stone, is engaged in sugar cane cultivation as well as the production of a wide variety of food crops. It is also actively involved in poultry, deer and cattle farming.
ENL Commercial (previously the General Investment and Development Company Ltd) has since its incorporation in 1969, grown its asset base to Rs 1.9 billion as at June 2008.

ENL Investment (previously Espitalier Noel Investment Trust Ltd) was incorporated in 1995. It holds a controlling stake in the Rogers Group owns 49% of the Food and Allied Group and a significant stake in New Mauritius Hotels, amongst other investments.. This company, quoted on the DEM, had an asset base valued at Rs 5.5 billion at June 2008.

ENL Corporate Services offers a wide range of services, primarily to the ENL companies. Its progressive yet attentive management approach brings together the following resources: leadership, executive and strategic management, company secretariat, communications, information & communications technology, human resources corporate social responsibility as well as finance and accounting expertise and internal audit;..

ENL Property, in priority, develops land under the control of ENL Agribusiness, focusing on world class retail, office and residential developments that are fast reshaping Mauritius.
