At ENL, we are dedicated to fostering excellence not only within our organisation but also in the broader community. As such, we are privileged to be associated with this year’s edition of the CFA Institute Research Challenge, a global competition enabling participants to gain real-world experience as investment research analysts. The challenge is coordinated locally by the CFA Society Mauritius, which brings together chartered investment management professionals from across the country. It pitches teams from five local universities contending for a ticket to the finals at regional level. ENL, a leading business group listed on the Stock Exchange of Mauritius, is the research subject.
Speaking at the launch of the CFA Challenge earlier this month, ENL Group CEO, Gilbert Espitalier-Noël said:
We take immense pride in supporting the next generation of financial professionals and eagerly await the innovative ideas and perspectives they will bring to the table. The CFA Challenge is a remarkable journey into the world of investment analysis. By participating in this competition, students have an opportunity to apply the theoretical knowledge gained in classrooms to real-life situations. No matter who wins the trophy, every participant is a winner in this competition.
ENL is a prominent business group in Mauritius with a rich history of entrepreneurship. The group is active in six business segments, including hospitality, real estate, agribusiness, logistics, finance and technology as well as commerce and industry. It ranks among the largest companies listed on the Official Market of the Stock Exchange of Mauritius. Gilbert Espitalier-Noël hosted a regular analyst meeting for CFA Challenge participants on Wednesday 25 October 2023, during which he discussed ENL’s current performance and business outlook for the near future. He also spent a long time answering numerous questions from the would-be analysts to give them all necessary information to make informed investment decisions.
The 55 participants to this year’s CFA Challenge will now conduct an in-depth financial analysis of ENL and file in reports for assessment by the jury. The final event is scheduled for February 2024. Four selected teams will present their comprehensive research papers on ENL and the winning team will have the coveted opportunity to represent Mauritius at the sub-Saharan Africa level of the CFA Challenge. Additionally, it will receive a prize valued at Rs 30,000.
At ENL, we are committed to nurturing innovation and excellence, and we firmly believe that the CFA Challenge offers an extraordinary opportunity for students to learn, grow and shine. Stay tuned for future updates as this competition unfolds, and let’s extend our warmest wishes to the participants as they embark on this thrilling journey of financial exploration.
