Eric Espitalier-Noël: Closing a chapter, leaving a legacy

At the start of 2025, ENL House is once again buzzing with energy as employees return after the festive season. However, this year, a familiar face is missing. Last December, Eric Espitalier-Noël retired, successfully accomplishing his tenure as CEO of ENL Commercial amidst the heartfelt applause of his colleagues. His departure closes a chapter rich in achievements and opens a new one dedicated to his passions and family. As we bid him farewell, let’s reflect on the key milestones of his extraordinary journey and the enduring legacy he leaves at ENL.

Eric’s career at ENL began in 1986 and his first initiative was to establish the horticultural export division. His leadership trajectory reached a turning point when he was appointed CEO of General Investment and Development Company, which later evolved into ENL Commercial.

During his tenure as CEO, Eric Espitalier-Noël steered a diverse portfolio of businesses across sectors such as automotive, express courier services, construction materials, eyewear manufacturing, and retail. Among his most significant accomplishments was securing the rights to Décathlon in Mauritius, a move that invigorated the group’s revenue and solidified its presence in the retail sector. Under his leadership, Axess also rose to prominence, becoming the undisputed leader in its field on the island.

Eric worked closely for many years with his elder brother Hector, the former CEO of the ENL Group. Together, they brought a unified vision and a spirit of collaboration to the organisation, shaping its growth and culture. Reflecting on Eric’s journey, Hector shared:
