Operations Officer – Livestock

ENL Agri Limited is currently looking for a dynamic and motivated Operations Officer – Livestock to join its team at L'Escalier.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the daily activities and daily feed production to ensure targets are met while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.
• Responsible for the daily follow up of the herds and pastures in terms of animal health and pastures quality.
• Oversee and coordinate animal treatments.
• Planning of the daily, weekly and monthly production of feed (internal and external clients)
• Planning of the daily, weekly & monthly tasks assigned to the team under his supervision.
• To assist the team by providing operational assistance in optimizing the utilization of resources.
• Assist in the preparation of work schedules and assign tasks to the farm workers.
• Communicate with the supervisor on a daily basis to ensure proper running of operations.
• Oversee land preparation works, seeding, irrigation & pasture maintenance.
• Monitor forage growth & provide regular feedback to the operations team.
• Implement best practices for soil fertility & grazing rotation.
• Ensure all equipment is repaired and serviced in a timely manner.
• Assist in budgeting & monitoring operational costs.
• Ensure workplace safety by adhering to and implementing health & safety standards.
• Prepare reports on an ad-hoc basis and present them to the operations teams.
• Ensure proper record keeping of all information.
• Assist in the budget preparation exercise.
• Ensure proper reporting to the Operations Executive / Manager.

Profile & Experience:

• Recognized bachelor’s degree in agriculture/Farming or any comparable recognized professional qualification.
• Previous experience in a similar position will be a definite advantage.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office tools.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including fluency in English and French
• Technical skills, critical thinking, problem solving skills and people’s management skills
• Dynamic, focused and reliable person with the ability to work under pressure.
• Holder of a valid driving license.
• Any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Salary: Negotiable upon qualification & experience.
